This exhibition presents the work of three key institutions in the Arab world dedicated to preserving architecture archives: the Arab Center for Architecture (ACA) in Beirut, the Rare Books and Special Collections at the American University in Cairo (AUC), and Archives du Maroc in Rabat. Each institution holds a diverse range of materials, including drawings, photographs, and correspondence, documenting modern architectural production. In addition to showcasing these archives, the exhibition explores unbuilt projects that were abandoned due to political, economic, or personal reasons, bringing them to life through detailed drawings and physical models. Visitors are invited to engage with these architectural visions in a tangible way, beyond digital renderings. Three documentaries, filmed on-site in Beirut, Cairo, Rabat, and Casablanca, complement the exhibition, offering archival material and actual visits to relevant buildings to examine their current condition. This event marked the beginning of a long-term initiative to deepen research and public engagement with architectural archives across the Arab world.
