“SUPER LIMBO” responds to the prevalence of incomplete construction across the Global South through the occupation of Sharjah Mall, one of the emirate’s largest unfinished developments. Set within this vast landscape of liminality, the project seeks to reverse the stigma attached to unfinished structures, reframing them as sites of abundance and possibility. Drawing on traditions of storytelling across desert cultures from West Africa to the Middle East, the pavilion is conceived as a soft yet immersive spatial environment: yards of draped fabric, developed in collaboration with Anne-Lise Agossa and Rym Beydoun of Super Yaya, form a mutable setting akin to the mushaira, where stories are collectively produced and lived.
