Play You Are in Sharjah reactivates the empty space between the Old Al Jubail Vegetable Market and the neighbouring bus station, transforming an unshaded and isolated square into a playful public ground. Referencing board games originating from regions that shape Sharjah’s diverse population, the project introduces game tables, seating, and movable shades that are continuously rearranged in response to sun and use. The shifting layout creates an evolving landscape of play and encounter. A fragment of the installation is also presented at Al Qasimiyah School, extending the project’s invitation to communal play.
